What is Towards Tomorrow by Toyota?

This fall, Toyota is unraveling a new campaign in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia that we hope they eventually spread further across the country if it’s successful. The campaign is called Towards Tomorrow by Toyota, and it is designed to give online car shoppers a more hands-on research experience by creating pop-up galleries of Toyota technology in locations that these type of shoppers are already going to be.

“The way in which Canadians shop for vehicles has changed, with more drivers – particularly millennial drivers – doing their homework online and relying on word-of-mouth and personal referrals when considering a new car. But online research doesn’t allow them to see the vehicles up close or touch them. With our ‘Towards Tomorrow by Toyota’ brand galleries, we’re actively engaging Canadians with our technology, design and remarkable vision for the future. The galleries are designed to connect with Canadians in the places they already go, informing and entertaining them and creating a valuable middle step on route to our dealerships.”

What do the galleries include?

Each gallery includes several different components. The first is the Toyota Virtual Reality Experience, which is – obviously – a virtual reality system that visitors can use to control a 2017 Corolla iM to get a better idea of how the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams work. The second is called the Joy of Play, in which visitors will once again don a VR system to explore different Toyota vehicles in a fun way.

The third component is the Toyota Safety Sense Learning Station, which will utilize video content and an interactive gallery rather than VR to learn about what the different Toyota Safety Sense technologies are capable of. After that, there is Vehicle Exploration. These are actual, physical models present in the gallery for shoppers to peruse and feel out – including the Toyota 86, Corolla iM, Corolla Sedan, Prius or RAV4 Hybrid.

Lastly, each gallery will include things like a Kidz Zone, smartphone charging tower, Toyota swag, a contest to win a Corolla iM and much more. We hope that these galleries are successful so that they can eventually make their way here to Alberta, and maybe even Edmonton.
