Was the Scion brand discontinued

If you pay attention to automotive news, then there is a chance you might have heard the news this morning that the Scion brand has been discontinued. Should I still buy a Scion vehicle?

You might be wary about purchasing a new Scion vehicle with the brand being discontinued, but we assure you there are still plenty of great reasons to buy a Scion vehicle. Toyota isn’t getting rid of Scion because it was doing poorly, or making bad vehicles. In fact, last year was one of the most successful years the brand has ever seen. Toyota initially created Scion as a platform for it to try new, unique ideas, and the plan has worked to perfection. Now, they don’t need it anymore, so they’ll absorb the brand and keep what works – which brings us to the final question.

What happens to current Scion vehicles?

Big fan of the sporty Scion FR-S, or the brand-new 2016 Scion iM? Once again, don’t worry. While the less popular models will be discontinued along with the brand, Toyota will be bringing the brand’s more popular vehicles right into the Toyota lineup. The iM and FR-S, for instance, will be rebadged for 2017 as Toyota vehicles. The recent C-HR concept car that was unveiled at the LA Auto Show will also join the lineup down the road. The only sad news belongs to the Scion tC, which will have one final Release Series edition before ending production in August.
